PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that is capable of performing rapid-fire shooting at a high rate even in the case that phase difference AF is performed during rapid-fire shooting. SOLUTION: The imaging device includes an imaging element having a pixel array capable of generating image signals regarding light from a subject coming through a shooting optical system, and a focus-detection pixel line having two or more pairs of pixels, the pixels of each of the pairs receiving luminous fluxes from the subject coming through a pair of partial regions of an exit pupil of the shooting optical system, in a horizontal direction. When focus detection (phase difference AF) by a phase-difference detection method is performed during rapid-fire shooting in the imaging device, reading R1 of signals generated at the focus-detection pixel line by main exposure P1 to the imaging element is performed, a calculation process M1 for phase-difference AF is performed, and lens driving D1 to an in-focus position is performed. By repeating AF operation in each interval of main exposures in rapid-fire shooting, the rapid-fire shooting at a high rate can be performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
