<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wear and leakage of a packing ring by removing defects at a conventional technique by improving a multipart packing ring, in which a ring is formed by airtightly making a ring segment and a seal segment come in contact with each other and a peripheral face is provided and both circumferential ends are limited by an end face in the radial direction and a shoulder projecting outward in the radial direction is arranged and the shoulder is limited with a seal face in the tangential direction; and consequently, to enhance durable life of the packing ring. <P>SOLUTION: An axial projection is arranged on the seal segment 14, and the curved peripheral face 21 located inward in the radial direction of the seal segment 14 at a position is widened by the projection. The axial projection is arranged between both ends of the ring segment 12 as viewed circumferentially, and is arranged by keeping an interval from both ends of the ring segment 12 in order to form a first wear gap 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
