<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device equipped with an electromagnetic actuator which can prevent enlarging of the device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup 1 comprises a semiconductor laser 2, a light attenuating filter actuator 100 for attenuating a laser beam from the semiconductor laser 2, a light receiving sensor 17 for detecting return light from an optical disk after the laser beam is radiated to the optical disk, and a current control circuit 19. The light attenuating filter actuator 100 is configured such that two movable sections (a first movable section 105 having the light attenuating filter and a second movable section 108 having a glass plate) move between two positions (position on a light path and position out of the light path) in the optical axis direction and vertical direction of the laser beam (A1 direction and A2 direction). The current control circuit 19 discriminates the position of each movable section of the light attenuating filter actuator 100 based on a change of a light intensity of the light receiving sensor 17 and outputs the result to the light attenuating filter actuator 100. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
