<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging unit excellent in the capability of protecting articles to be packaged and enabling the ease of freight operation. <P>SOLUTION: The packaging unit has a cushioning material 2 abutted against both end edges of the article 1 to be packaged so as to support them with the article 1 to be packaged inserted into a cylindrical exterior box 3 for the box to be enclosed by the use of fastening bands 5. With respect to this packaging unit, extension portions 6 having bending lines 7 are extendedly provided at both ends of the top face 3a of the exterior box 3, while steps 8 are formed at the top face side of the end surfaces of the cushioning material 2, so that when the fastening bands 5 become loosened, the extension portions 6 are bent at positions of the bending lines 7 with their tips 9 hooked with the steps 8 so as to form spaces 10. In the case that the fastening bands become loosened due to the compression of the cushioning material 2 and the exterior box 3 at stacking and loading, the extension portions 6 are bent and their tips 9 are hooked with the steps 8 of the cushioning material 2 so as to form the spaces 10, thus absorbing the looseness of the fastening bands 5, securing the sure retention of the article 1 to be packaged once again with improved protection capability and reduced re-winding work required for the fastening bands 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
