<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and an information processing method, capable of suppressing increase in the data amount when analyzing a structured document including elements having small structural similarity. <P>SOLUTION: Original data of the structured document described in a markup language such as XML are sequentially analyzed (202, 204), if there exists a part to be reserved for analysis, it is stored in a storage means 20 (206, 208), it is decided whether the reserved analysis processing can be resumed or not every time analyzing a succeeding element (200), and analysis context information is developed and analyzed when the analysis processing is resumable (210-214).
