<p>The lock (1) for a door closer, to hold the door in a required angular position, has a sliding rail (2) for a sliding block (4) to move along its length (3). The sliding block works with a clamping rod (5) and a clamping plate (6) to give a clamping action between them when the door is opened. The lock is released by an electrical or mechanical unit, e.g. a magnet (7) at the clamping plate to hold it when energized and release it when there is no current flow. The sliding block is held at the rod by a permanent magnet (8), which can be released to allow the door to be opened further.</p> |
