<p>The system i.e. adaptive cruise control system (44), has a locating device (18), a longitudinal acceleration sensor (26) and a recognition module (30) for recognizing a subsequent travel situation. An electronic evaluation device (32) evaluates a difference speed (Vdiff) arising during an overhauling process. The evaluation device and an output device (34) output a warning signal (W) and a switch signal (S) which indicate whether an overhauling maneuver is justifiable based on the evaluation result. The locating device is placed in a position to locate an ahead-driving vehicle (10).</p> |
