The accumulator (1) has a housing (2) with an inlet opening (5) and an outlet opening (6) for a cooling agent. A flow channel (7) e.g. U-pipe, has a top section, which runs from an upper region (9) of interior of the housing into a base region (10) of the housing. The channel has another section, which runs into the base region of the housing. An end section is communicatively connected with the outlet opening. A cooling agent guiding element (11) is arranged at a distance to the cooling agent inlet opening and partially encloses an elongated virtual axis of the cooling agent inlet opening.
