METHOD OF FORMING INNER LINER FOR TIRE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING PNEUMATIC TIRE

A method of forming a tire innerliner and a method of producing a pneumatic tire according to the present invention suppresses occurrence of an air pocket and avoids complicating the structure of a tire building machine. The method of forming a tire innerliner is a method of forming a tire innerliner having a cylindrical inner rubber layer 3 and a cylindrical film 4 formed of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition having a thermoplastic resin and an elastomer blended therewith, the cylindrical film 4 being disposed radially outwardly of the cylindrical inner rubber layer 3. The method comprises wrapping an unvulcanized rubber layer 3' cylindrically around a building drum 1 to form the cylindrical inner rubber layer 3 and wrapping a sheet-shaped film 4' formed of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition having a thermoplastic resin and an elastomer blended therewith cylindrically around the cylindrical inner rubber layer 3 to form the cylindrical film 4. The method of producing a pneumatic tire uses the above method of forming a tire innerliner.
