<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adding valve control method capable of appropriately setting the amount of additive added when performing intermittent addition for suppressing clogging of an adding valve. <P>SOLUTION: A control device 25 is so configured that fuel is intermittently added from an injection nozzle 50 in order to suppress the clogging of the injection nozzle 50 supplying fuel to the exhaust passage of an engine 1. When performing intermittent addition, the control device 25 calculates a discharge of fine particles in the exhaust passage based on an engine operation condition and also calculates exhaust gas energy by multiplying exhaust gas temperature and intake air volume together. Then, the amount of additive added in performing intermittent addition is calculated based on the discharge of fine particles and the exhaust gas energy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
