PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map information screen operation device and a map information screen operation method for displaying the road map of a prescribed point in a short time.

SOLUTION: The map information screen operation device 100 includes: a road map display means 22 and 24 displaying a road map on a display device 17; a prescribed point storage section 26 storing a prescribed point in the road map; a scroll means 27 scrolling the road map displayed on the display device 17 in a prescribed direction; a switch creating means 231 detecting the scroll of the road map by the scroll means and displaying, on the display device 17, a switch 31 making the displayed road map jump to a road map around the prescribed point.
