<p>Intended is to realize a thin type electric device, which can be easily changed in its light emitting state and which can be commonly used in different kinds of applications. A light emitting device is constituted of a light source unit (1) and a socket (2). The light source unit (1) includes a casing (11), a light guide plate (12) and a light source side substrate (13). The casing (11) includes opened front and rear surfaces and is equipped with a partition (111) at its longitudinal center portion. The light guide plate (12) is held on the front face side of the partition (111), and the light source side substrate (13) is so held that its front face contacts the back of the partition (111) closely. The light source side substrate (13) mounts the drive circuit of an LED (4) confronting the upper end face of the light guide plate (12), and holds the connecting terminals (5) of the drive circuit on its back. The socket (2) is equipped with clamping members (21) and (22), a back member (23) and a power source side terminal (9). The clamping members (21) and (22) clamp the light source unit (1) inserted from the front side, removably. The back member (23) is equipped with a hole portion (7), through which the connecting terminals (5) extend. The power source side terminal (9) holds the back of the back member (23) in a manner to confront the hole portion (7).</p> |
