<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive magnetic bead having excellent mass-productivity and corrosion resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic bead is characterized in that the particle-shaped phase of a magnetic metal element M1 in which the standard generated free energy of oxide satisfies the relationship of ΔG<SB>M1-O</SB>>ΔG<SB>M2-O</SB>is included in the coating-shaped phase of the oxide of an element(s) M2 [the oxide of the M2 is at least one selected from Ti oxide äthe Ti oxide is Ti<SB>3</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, Ti<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, TiO<SB>x</SB>(wherein, x is 0.3 to 2) and TiO}]. Regarding the coating-shaped phase composed of the oxide of the M2 and the particulate-shaped phase of the magnetic metal element M1, the oxide layer of the magnetic metal element M1 is not present between the coating-shaped phase and the particulate-shaped phase, and they are continuous. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
