<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt tubular body in which a rip is prevented and which has excellent durability and to provide a highly reliable image forming apparatus using the belt tubular body. <P>SOLUTION: The belt tubular body is comprised of an endless belt main body and a belt state projecting member adhered along an edge part on at least one side of the belt main body. The belt tubular body is provided with an adhering region and a non-adhering region in between the belt main body and a surface facing the belt main body in the projecting member. The non-adhering region exists on one end part or on both end parts in an axial direction of the belt main body in the projection member.
