<p>Disclosed is an anthrapyridone compound represented by the formula (1) below or a salt thereof, which is a magenta dye (compound) having high solubility in water, and hue and clarity suitable for inkjet recording. This magenta dye (compound) enables to obtain a recorded matter having excellent fastnesses such as light resistance, moisture resistance and ozone gas resistance. Also disclosed is a magenta ink composition containing such a magenta dye (compound). (In the formula (1), n represents an integer of 1-3; R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methoxy group; and R3 represents an unsubstituted anilino group, an anilino group having, as a substituent, at least one group selected from the group consisting of a sulfo group, a carboxy group, an alkoxy group, a carbamoyl group, a cyano group, an alkyl group, an anilino group, a phenoxy group, an amino group, a hydroxy group and a mercapto group, or the like.)</p> |
