PRINTING SYSTEM, HOST DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND REPORT PRINT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm that both a transmission side and a reception side can confirm that alternative printing has been performed, and to prevent printed sheets from being left behind or erroneously picked up according to the history of a printer which has performed alternative printing when it is possible to continue printing by alternative printing by preventing printing from being put in a stop state when any failure is occurred in a network environment.

SOLUTION: This printing system is provided with a merge result transmission means for transmitting the result of the merging of request response information from all printers from the printer at the uppermost stream side to a host device; a report generation means for generating the data of a printing result report according to a printing processing state in each printer included in the result of the merging of the request response information; and a report transmission means for transmitting the data of the print result report from the host device to the printer positioned at the uppermost stream side.
