<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception device which can be realized by a simple circuit arrangement together with a transmission device by facilitating the design of a filter and by transmitting data without using phases. <P>SOLUTION: The reception device Rx is used for an ultrawide band communication system by which data is transmitted by using ultrashort pulse waves of 1 ns or less and in a noncoherent manner. The reception device Rx is provided with an expander 1 which performs frequency conversion of a reception signal and outputs intermediate signals, a filter 2 which selects intermediate signals corresponding to the target ultrashort pulse waves and allows them to pass, a wave detector 9 which detects pulses from the intermediate signals, a pulse detector 3 which outputs signal pulses corresponding to the target ultrashort pulse waves by using the pulses and a bit decision unit 4 which takes bit values of data out of the signal pulses. The expander 1 performs frequency conversion so that the intermediate signals may have the same bandwidth as the target ultrashort pulse waves and the upper limit of the passband of the filter 2 may be lower than the lowest frequency of the target ultrashort pulse waves. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
