PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resume vibration-proof operation with excellent accuracy in a short time after a vibration-proof system is restarted, while suppressing power consumption. SOLUTION: Optical equipment 2 includes: a vibration-proof means 519 which performs operation for suppressing image blur; first shake detection means 501 and 508 which produce a first displacement signal by using an angular velocity sensor; second shake detection means 504 and 509 which produce a second displacement signal by using an acceleration sensor; and a control means 512 which controls the operation of the vibration-proof means, based on the first and second displacement signals, and stops the supply of power to the first and second shake detection means, when a vibration-proof stop signal is input, wherein the control means stops the supply of the first shake detection means and then stops the supply of the second shake detection means when the vibration-proof stop signal is input.
