PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically switch transmission data formats of data to transmitted between a central apparatus and a plurality of terminal devices. SOLUTION: In a terminal device, a device 12b of a transmission part 12 receives transmission data received through a repeater 11, and detects format selection information for selecting a transmission data format from the received transmission data. Next, a control part 12c checks the device 12b as to whether to detect the format selection information, and transmits instructions to execute reconfiguration to the device 12b of the terminal device through a transmission line 12d when the format selection information is detected. Then, the device 12b performs reconfiguration according to a configuration program loaded from a storing part 12a and the transmission data format in accordance with the format selection information included in the received transmission data.
