PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability upon finely adjusting positions of a platen and a heat generating element array of a thermal printer head in accordance with the thickness of paper sheets to be used. SOLUTION: The thermal printer head 115 disposed in a printing position where the heat generating element array 115b comes into contact with the platen 116 via a guiding path is held displaceably in an adjusting direction as a direction nearly orthogonal to the linear direction connecting the heat generating array 115b and the platen 116, positioning pins 115a projecting from both sides of the thermal printer head 115 are fitted into positioning grooves 132 so as to be freely movable in the adjusting direction, the positions of the positioning pins 115a in the positioning grooves 132 are displaced in the adjusting direction by the displacement of movable pieces selectively appearing and disappearing from sides opposing each other of the positioning grooves, thereby the position of the heat generating element array 115b can be adjusted in the adjusting direction.
