The valve (12) has a control chamber (54) formed in a valve piece (44) that is accommodated in an injector body (14), and a fuel injector (10) operated by pressure release or pressurization of the control chamber. An armature guide (38) is provided in the valve piece, and has a release opening (62) downstream to a valve seat (42). The release opening is arranged at the periphery of the armature guide in a non-radial position of an injector axis (22). Multiple control openings are formed on the periphery of the armature guide.
