PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with less luminance unevenness in spite of a thin type and/or large screen. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 10 comprises: a liquid crystal panel 22 displaying an image on a display surface 22a; a plurality of linear light sources 43 juxtaposed to emit light from the opposite side of the display surface 22a to irradiate the liquid crystal panel 22; a support member 50 supporting at least one side of both ends of the linear light sources 43 and elastically expanded/contracted in the line axis direction of the linear light sources 43.
