<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device that achieves improvement in heat dissipation performance with respect to high heat-generating electrical components such as a commutator and a switching element module in order to obtain improvement in reliability by inhibiting heat-generation interference of the high heat-generating electrical components with each other and suppressing thermal effects of peripheral electrical components, and an outdoor unit for an air-conditioner that is provided with the inverter device so as to promote its miniaturization. <P>SOLUTION: The inverter device S rectifies and smoothes an AC voltage of a commercial power supply so as to convert it into a DC voltage, subjects the DC voltage to PWM control, and generates a three-phase AC voltage at a prescribed frequency in order to drive a compressor 28 installed in an air-conditioner. The inverter device is provided with a control substrate 10, a commutator 2 attached to the control substrate so as to rectify a commercial power supply into a DC voltage, and a switching element module 3 for converting the DC voltage, converted by the commutator, into a three-phase AC current. A heat-dissipating surface of the switching element module is mounted to the control substrate while being located inside the contour of the control substrate. A heat-dissipating surface of the commutator is attached to the control substrate while being protruded to the outer side than the contour of the control substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
