A system for telesurgery having a plurality of operative end units respectively linked to remote master end units. All the master and operative end units of the system consist of a common module having a base plate to which a slender shaft is slidingly attached. A slender shaft is further rotatable about its axis as well as about a center point disposed above the distal surface of the base plate. Surgical effectors, cameras and/or LEDs can be attached to the distal end of slender shafts of operative end units which is distally disposed relative to the base plate of its respective operative end unit. Operating handles for manipulating and/or activating the respective slender shaft or attached surgical effectors, are attached to the proximal end and/or to the distal end of slender shafts of master end units.
