The invention relates to a solar cell production facility comprising a solar cell connecting device for producing solar cell strings from single solar cells. The solar cell strings are conveyed on a first level. Said solar cell production facility further comprises a layup device for placing the solar cell strings on glass plates as well as a conveying device for glass plates which runs to the layup device and conveys glass plates to the layup device on a second level. The invention is characterized in that the conveying device runs below the solar cell connecting device such that the second level lies below the first level.
