PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine which detects the symbols visible through the display window after the spinning reels has been stopped with a high accuracy. SOLUTION: With a slot machine, a reel band is wound around a reel and the reel band has plural flaps having a barcode along a side edge of the reel. A symbol position on a display window is detected by reading the barcode with a barcode reader when spinning of the reel has stopped. And then, it is determined whether or not a winning combination is achieved. Therefore, a symbol position of each reel can be detected reliably when the reel has stopped. Furthermore, since the barcode is provided on a side surface of the reel, an installing position of the barcode reader can be arranged flexibly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
