OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE FILM, AND OPTICAL MODULE, LIGHTING SYSTEM, COMMUNICATION DEVICE, DISPLAY DEVICE AND LIGHT GUIDE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide film, which includes a plurality of cores uniformed in shape and disposed at equal intervals in the film lateral direction, thus can be increased in area and length at low cost, further enables the manufacture of an optical waveguide film with minimized optical loss or symbol error rate, and can be easily positioned in connection to a connector by using irregularities present on the film surface.

SOLUTION: The film includes a core formed of a thermoplastic resin A and a clad formed of a thermoplastic resin B, in which the core is aligned in the film lateral direction while being extended in the film longitudinal direction, and the core has a sectional shape in which the circumference thereof is surrounded by the clad. The difference between loss tangent (tanδ(core)) of the core and loss tangent (tanδ(clad)) of the clad satisfies the equation (1):¾tanδ(core)-tanδ(clad)¾≤5.
