PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing mercury contained in hydrocarbons such as crude oil, natural gas, natural gas condensate, naphtha, gasoline, kerosene and gas oil by a simple treatment. SOLUTION: The mercury removing method of hydrocarbon oil comprises a step for irradiating with ultraviolet rays, a hydrocarbon oil after adjusting the mercaptan content to be a predetermined amount in the hydrocarbon containing mercury and a step for removing mercury compounds after the above step. The mercaptan content is≥100 mole per 1 mole of elemental mercury and the irradiation time of the ultraviolet rays is preferably 1 min or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
