PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine-driven compressor capable of suppressing an increase of noise and the deterioration of fuel economy. SOLUTION: For increasing a delivery air quantity, a suction air quantity to a compressor body is increased by opening a capacity regulator (a step S4) when the capacity regulator is not fully opened (No in a step S3), and the suction air quantity to the compressor body is increased by raising engine revolution speed (a step S5) when the capacity regulator is fully opened (Yes in the step S3). For decreasing the delivery air quantity, the suction air quantity to the compressor body is decreased by decreasing engine revolution speed (a step S7) when the engine revolution speed is not idling revolution speed (No in a step S6), and the suction air quantity to the compressor body is decreased by closing the capacity regulator (a step S8) when the engine revolution speed is the idling revolution speed (Yes in the step S6).
