The control method involves sending an encoded stereo sample from a computer (1) to a USB audio chip (5) in the external device (8) via USB port (2). The USB audio chip converts the sample into an analog stereo audio signal. The sound channel of the audio signal is amplified and reproduced by the loudspeaker (6). The command channel in the audio signal is decoded and used for controlling the motors and solenoids (7,7a,7b) in the external device. The external device moves and produces sound in synchronization following the encoded stereo sample. An independent claim is also included for a system comprising a personal computer and device provided with sound signals and movement command signals connected to the USB port thereof.
