A method for processing Traffic Engineering (TE) link resource information includes: obtaining a variety of protection attributes possessed by a TE link and bandwidth resource information of the protection attributes; and distributing the obtained protection attributes possessed by the TE link and the bandwidth resource information of the protection attributes in the network. With embodiments of the present invention, all network nodes can obtain TE link resource information of the whole network, and the control plane is compatible with various protection switching techniques of the transport plane.
