The device has an element (7) directly mounted on a pull off spring (5) to block a shifter lever (L) at a dead centre. The element is engaged on strands (5a, 5b) of the spring, where the strands are in support with a selector finger (3) subjected to the lever. The element has a body presenting arrangements for positioning the strands to exert the locking and blocking effect of the strands, where the arrangements are constituted by a complementary denture system.
