The device (1) has a core (2) including a bore (8) that extends along a revolution axis (X1) of the device and receives a metallic cable (10). A conical outer surface (6) of the core has reduced diameter at a proximal end of the core, and has increased diameter at a distal end of the core. A body (4) forms an inner housing whose inner conical surface is complementary to the outer surface of the core. A peripheral groove is formed in the outer surface of the core, and an elastic ring is housed in the groove. An independent claim is also included for a cable clamping method.
