摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional polymer optical waveguide and a method for manufacturing the optical waveguide, by which an optical waveguide of a three-dimensional structure having a core width different by each layer can be easily and inexpensively manufactured. SOLUTION: A laminated film 10 is prepared by laminating a first layer 11 to be a clad, a second layer 12 having a refractive index larger than that of the first layer 11 and to be a core on the first layer 11, and a third layer 13 made of the same material as the first layer 11 and provided on the second layer 12. The laminated film 10 is provided with cut grooves 17A to 17E to be connected to the outside, formed at predetermined intervals by a blade. The cut grooves 17A to 17E are filled with the same material as a clad as the first layer. Accordingly, a three-dimensional polymer optical waveguide 100 having first cores 2A, 2B and second cores 4A, 4B in a two-layer structure is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
