PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight-reduced developing roller abutting uniformly on a body to be abutted and in which a wide nip width can be secured even when an environment in an image forming apparatus is varied. SOLUTION: The developing roller 1A is comprised of: a thin and hollow cylindrical body 2A formed by molding a resin composition containing engineering plastic in a crown shape with opening parts provided on both ends; end parts 3A closing each opening part in the thin and hollow cylindrical body 2A; and a rubber layer or an elastomer layer 4A formed on an outer circumference surface of the thin and hollow cylindrical body 2A. The thin and hollow cylindrical body 2A or the end parts 3A have a through hole communicating with a hollow part of the thin and hollow cylindrical body 2A which is closed by the end parts 3A.
