摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to determine whether a motor fault is due to a short fault or a disconnection fault without adding a part such as a sensor for short-circuit detection, etc. <P>SOLUTION: Actuation of the motor 101 is attempted by determining a faulty phase by carrying out disconnection short-circuit detection and electrifying a coil 113 of a normal phase except for the faulty phase when the motor 101 has the disconnection or short fault. The disconnection fault is determined when the motor 101 works and the short fault is determined when the motor does not work by this electrifying control. Thereafter, switching of a shift range by driving the motor is continued as it is possible to rotate the motor 101 when the fault of the motor 101 is the disconnection fault. In the meantime, flowing of an excess current to the faulty phase of the motor 101 is prevented by cutting off connection of a driving coil 110 and battery voltage Vb by turning off a motor relay 230 when the fault of the motor 101 is the short fault. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
