<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine satisfactorily supplying additive to a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with an injection valve 30 injecting additive to an exhaust passage of the engine, and a SCR catalyst 20 accelerating specific exhaust gas conversion reaction by the additive. The injection valve 30 is disposed at an upstream side of the SCR catalyst 20, and spray of the additive injected from the injection valve 30 is supplied to a catalyst carrier 21 of the SCR catalyst 20. A section of the exhaust passage from an injection position of the injection valve 30 to an upstream side end surface of the catalyst carrier 21 is attached to an exhaust system of the engine with setting the injection valve 30 side at high position and setting the catalyst carrier 21 side at low position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
