摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress corrosion and hydrogen absorption of a zirconium-based alloy. SOLUTION: Alloy components of the zirconium-based alloy used for a fuel rod 14, a spacer 17, a water rod 22, or a channel box 23 of a fuel assembly 10 loaded on a water cooling type nuclear reactor are zirconium, tin, iron, chromium and inevitable impurities. Assuming that a tin concentration is C<SB>Sn</SB>(mass%), an iron concentration is C<SB>Fe</SB>(mass%), and a chromium concentration is C<SB>Cr</SB>(mass%), following inequalities are satisfied: C<SB>Sn</SB>≤1.2, 0.5≤C<SB>Fe</SB>+C<SB>Cr</SB>≤0.8, 0.26≤C<SB>Fe</SB>/C<SB>Cr</SB>≤1.7.
