PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a compact and easy-to-handle dust collecting part which has a high dust collecting performance, easily and sanitarily discharges the collected dust, and which suppresses a deterioration in suction force and air volume of the cleaner even when the dust collecting part has collected dust. SOLUTION: The dust collecting part includes: a dust collecting case 105 having a flow-in part 115 for allowing a dust-containing air flow to flow into a separation chamber 104 for separating dust from the dust-containing air flow, a first communication port 117 leading to a dust collecting chamber 105a arranged close to the separation chamber 104, and a first evacuation port 144 for evacuating the air flow from the separation chamber 104; a first filter 106 and a second filter 161 which are arranged on the downstream side of the dust collecting case 105; a dust removing mechanism which is arranged on the rear surface side of the second filter 161; and a passage 121 which is arranged below the first filter 106 and transfers the dust removed from the second filter 161 to a storage part 162 arranged below the dust collecting case 105.
