<p>The invention relates to an electric erosion cutting installation, particularly in the machine building or metallurgical industry, especially for cutting parts made of materials hard to be machined by chipping, such as steels and hard and extra hard alloys, corrosion- and cavitation-resisting materials, refractory materials or brittle materials. According to the invention, the installation comprises an endless metal strip (3) which ensures the electric energy transport and which carries out a rectilinear feed motion and interacts with an object (23) to be machined, clamped in a securing and feeding device (D), the metal strip (3) being wound onto two flywheels (1 and 2), one of them being driven by an electric motor (8), and the other is coupled to a tensioning device (B) of the metal strip (3), a straight branch of the metal strip (3) being maintained firmly in the vertical plane, by means of two guiding devices (C), arranged on either side of the object to be machined (23), together with some devices for receiving the stream (E), the securing and feeding device (D) of the object to be machined (23) being displaced vertically, under the action of some counterweights (45) hung on a steel cable (46), thus ensuring the feeding of the object to be machined (23) as against the metal strip (3) as well as the contact pressure necessary for carrying on the electric erosion process with contact breaking.</p> |
