PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver capable of reducing operations to be performed by a viewer before viewing the television. SOLUTION: In the television receiver loaded on a rotary table 10 rotatable in horizontal and vertical directions, a camera 1 acquires an image at a position facing a monitor screen, and when a moving object detector 2 detects a moving object using the image, a monitor power source controller 5, a luminance adjustment controller 7 and a rotary table controller 9 automatically adjust the on-off switching of the monitor screen, luminance adjustment and direction respectively in response to the detection signal.
