PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically perform dressing operation, which has been manually performed, without uselessly using a dress grinding tool by providing an apparatus for dressing a multiple grinding wheel of such a structure that a plurality of disk-like grinding wheel plates are secured to a rotating grinding wheel spindle to a hard brittle sheet chamfering device. SOLUTION: An advancing/retreating device 65 having advancing/retreating ends which advance and retreat to both ends of a table 1 in the X-direction perpendicular to a work feeding direction is installed on the base 3 of the table 1 of the chamfering device. A grinding tool holder 61 for fixing the dress grinding tool 6 is attached to each of the advancing/retreating ends on both sides of the advancing/retreating device. The grinding tool holders 61 are so arranged on both sides symmetrically with respect to the lateral center as to be advanced/retreated in synchronism with each other, at such a position and a stroke that can advance the dress grinding tools 6 into the moving range of the multiple grinding wheel 2 during the advancement, and can retreat the dress grinding tool from the moving range during the retreat.
