The present invention relates to a communication system comprising a system of servers, a system of access points and mobile devices wherein the mobile devices communicate with the access points using wireless connection according to different technologies. The access points are provided with a plurality of receiving units which allow to receive different wireless signals and are connected by an IP connection to the servers. Virtual communication channels are established between the mobile devices and the servers. An identification number (UID) is assigned to each user and an identification number (SID) is assigned to each virtual channel, so that the virtual channel remains active also in case of migration.
