PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating appliance capable of smoothly starting up by maintaining the compressor rotating speed at a controlled rotating-speed only during the time for rotating-speed control. SOLUTION: The refrigeration appliance 1 comprises the rotating-speed controlled compressor 2 for compressing a refrigerant, a condenser 4 for cooling the compressed refrigerant, an expansion valve 6 for adjusting flow rate of the refrigerant, and an evaporator 7 for exchanging heat between the refrigerant and a cooling object. When the suction pressure Ps of the compressor 2 becomes higher than a predetermined pressure Po for rotating-speed control, the rotating speed of the compressor 2 is maintained at the predetermined rotating speed Ns lower than the rated rotating speed only during a predetermined time t1 for rotating-speed control.
