The system has a transmitter and receiver (9) arranged on oppositely lying sides of a vertical side closure edge (4). The transmitter produces focused light ray (5) passing along the door edge. The receiver receives the transmitted light. One of the transmitter and receiver, an optical reflector (12) i.e. retro reflector, a transmitting unit and a sending unit is mounted in or on a base of the edge. The transmitter and receiver, the reflector and the units are developed such that the received light is directly or via a separate optical reflector returned back to the receiver.
