PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the degree of similarity at a higher precision evenly by stabilizing the frame rate without being lowered. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has an ultrasonic wave probe in which a plurality of elements is so arrayed as to transmit ultrasonic waves to a subject while outputting received signals by receiving ultrasonic wave signals reflected from the subject, a means for varying assumed sound velocities preset for the actual sound velocities of the ultrasonic waves transmitted to the subject and a frame position calculation means which determines the degree of similarity of parts between frames utilizing RF data or the speckles of amplitude images based on the different assumed sound velocities of two types or more to calculate the positions of the frames.
