PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the versatility of an elevating conveyance device capable of being utilized for transferring an automobile body in an automobile assembling line, and to reduce the size and weight thereof. SOLUTION: This elevating conveyance device is constituted in such a manner that a fixed column 3 of a multistage extensible column body 1 is provided with an elevation drive means 20 vertically driving an mid-stage elevating column 4a in a succeeding stage; the mid-stage elevating columns 4a and 5a are provided with bottle hanging type wound suspension strings 21a and 22a converting the ascending motion of the mid-stage elevating columns 4a and 5a with respect to the columns 3 and 4a in a front stage to the ascending motion of the mid-stage elevating column 5a in the succeeding stage or an elevating part 6a in a final stage with respect to the mid-stage elevating columns 4a and 5a; the final-stage elevating part 6a is provided with a conveying object support 14; a fluid pressure cylinder 37a energizing the mid-stage elevating column 4a at in succeeding stage in the ascending direction with respect to the fixed column 3 and fluid pressure cylinders 38A and 39A energizing the mid-stage elevating column 5a in the succeeding stage or the final-stage elevating part 6a in the ascending direction with respect to the mid-stage elevating columns 4a and 5a are provided.
