PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide strengthening measures against an earthquake as inexpensive repairing measures without breaking a house in order to eliminate inconveniences of bothersome construction work and expensive costs when the house in service is remodeled to impart thereto aseismic performance, the measures being implemented by stretching a thin steel plate to a wall portion near a ceiling beam (4) of a room corner portion (1), and rigidly connecting the steel plate to the wall portion by an L-shaped steel member (8), a slender steel plate double-sided corner fitting (9) bent at right angles, etc. SOLUTION: In implementation of the strengthening measures, the L-shaped steel member (8) is horizontally arranged on a head jamb or on an upper side of the same from one corner pillar (2) to the other corner pillar (2) on the right or left side in a room, and the slender steel plate double-sided corner fitting (9) bent at right angles is superposed on each end of the L-shaped steel member (8). Then the former and the latter are fastened and connected to each other by a bolt (10), and fixed to the corner pillar (2) by screws (11). Next a steel thin plate (6) is stretched to the wall portion enclosed by the ceiling beam (4) of the room corner portion (1), the corner pillar (2), right and left pillars (3), and the L-shaped steel member (8), to thereby strengthen the interior of the room.
