PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform vehicle-to-vehicle distance control and collision avoidance control at optimal timing to a driver. SOLUTION: A traveling control device for a vehicle includes a millimeter-wave radar 2 for detecting a further preceding vehicle and a front camera 12 for acquiring information in a front visual recognition state from a driver, adjusts the operation timing of the operation state of the output control for an engine 4, the state of how a brake 5 is applied, and the state of how an occupant is restricted by a seat belt 6 or a supporting device 9 according to a manner how the front is viewed by the front camera 12 when the existence of the further preceding vehicle is identified by the millimeter-wave radar 2, and appropriately performs traveling control such as inter-vehicle distance control and collision avoidance control based on the state viewed by eyes of the driver.
