<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous lithium secondary battery by using a phosphate compound as an active material of the aqueous lithium secondary battery which can achieve an excellent discharge capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and using an aqueous solution containing lithium ions for an electrolytic solution, in which at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode contains a phosphate compound as an active material, is characterized in that the electrolytic solution contains a phosphate ions.
